Meet The Founder...
Donte' Watkins, Director/Chief Executive Officer
" Donte' Watkins has always found a love for mathematics and business. Being a volunteer math tutor for his fellow classmates and other students within Henderson Middle School, he quickly found his passion. At a young age, he began in the entrepreneurship field. As a 7th grader, Donte' began to sell individual candy pieces, ranging between $.25 & $1.00 each. Though some looked at this market as a small, "for-fun", market, Donte' saw potential and decided to take it serious. By focusing on four main concepts, those being consistency, accountability, quality, and affordability, he was able to reach a steady daily sales amount of $100+, in the 7th grade.
Placing his passions for math, tutoring, business, and entrepreneurship together, Donte' set out to find a solution to the mass achievement gap affecting millions of students in American schools daily. Through much critical thinking, he founded Second Chance Tutoring, a tutoring service built atop a model which gives students a second chance outside of the classroom to learn necessary information that they may have missed. This model uses a peer-to-peer tutoring basis, in which high school tutors use their special insight into the classroom and their compatibility with other students to effectively communicate principles missed in the classroom.
Donte' plans to lead this business in its mission to move across America, then globally, giving students a second chance outside of the classroom with the SCT set up. He plans to do so by using his proven successful leadership skills, principles, and abilities. His leadership has been proven effective through his quick advancement in Tucker High School's AFJROTC unit [former Group/Unit Commander], and also THS 's Future Business Leaders of America chapter [former President]. He reached both positions after merely one year within the organizations. Donte has participated with several volunteer community organizations and with several different entrepreneurship organizations, including Youth Entrepreneurs GA, a program, with a focus on High School students, building successful youth entrepreneurs.
